Thaga Thaga Thaga Thaga Thanga Vaettai...that is the catch phrase Ramya uses for Sun TV's new programme 'Thanga Vaettai' (Gold Hunt) telecasting every Saturday and Sunday. Beautiful Ramya Krishnan is the host for this excitingfamily orientated game show, in which the prize is just gold gold and more gold. There are 5 rounds, and each round enables participants to win a certain amount of gold. The game show goes in a question and answer basis, where both the group of participants have a equal chance of participating. Winners get to take their winned number of gold coins right on the spot (Although obviously they are phony coins, and the original weight of won gold will be given to the contestants later). The show is produced by RADAAN, and Ramya Krishnan gets to wear beautiful and expensive looking sponsored sarees and gold jewellery. Sets in the show are simply breathtaking...never in SUN TV's life have there been such an expensive looking set. The current theme is Egypt, and I don't know whether there will be a change of sets, after a certain number of episode or season. Alot of effort has been put in coming out with the items in the show, and making the game possible. On the whole, the show is an excellent effort, 3 cheers for RADAAN. People get to learn somethign from the general knowledge rounds. Excellent opportunity for the advertisers to show of their sets of jewellery and saree. Good marketing strategy. Flaws include Ramya Krishnan's almost screechy voice when she gets too excited. That has to be looked into. As it is majority of Indian women are too into gold and sarees..this is going to totally going to aggrevate the situation. Poor husbands.
